About
Joshua Elliott

Joshua Elliott is a Canadian composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Vancouver, BC. He started playing piano at a very young age, taking lessons and performing locally for over a decade. During that time, he also picked up other instruments, such as clarinet, trombone, cello, accordion, guitar, and more, performing in various bands and choirs throughout high school.
In his early teens, he developed a love for writing music as well. After hearing one of his first compositions played by a professional string quartet, his passion for orchestral composition was solidified. Over the next several years, he began experimenting with various digital sampled instruments, DAW software, and notation, while taking private lessons to improve his orchestration and composition skills.
During this time, he started a YouTube channel gaining tens of thousands of views, received numerous awards for his compositional work including a top three placement in the worldwide Indie Film Music Contest, and had several premiere performances by youth orchestras, choirs, and other ensembles. His first album, Journey , is a collection of work from this period.
In 2023, he was accepted into the Berklee College of Music undergraduate program in Boston on a $50,000 scholarship, but decided instead to pursue a certificate in film and TV scoring and orchestration from Berklee Online while studying Engineering at the University of British Columbia.
Since then, aside from studying, he has been writing, arranging, and performing music for private clients, including the 2025 short film Bloodhound and a choral premiere performance with the acclaimed UBC Choral Union, among other projects.
He is currently looking for new clients and collaborators, and would love to hear about whatever you're currently working on! Don't be afraid to reach out.
